That‘s why Kars4Kids works with local officials to provide backpacks to hundreds of teens. It‘s a fun occasion with food and music too, so teens can feel good about going back to school.

We make it possible with our weekend retreats, to give families a chance to recharge and restore that loving dynamic. Family togetherness is a gift we can only give with your generous assistance.
Questions about donating a car in WV
The IRS allows you to claim a tax deduction of:
a) The value of your vehicle up to $500. It is up to the donor to determine the fair market value.
b) The amount we sell your vehicle for - if it is more than $500.
Kars4kids is a classified 501(c)(3) charity organization. You can check with your tax advisor or accountant to determine the amount of your benefit. The deduction is of value only if the donor itemizes his or her deductions. For a more detailed overview the IRS publishes a Donors Guide to Car Donation.
If you'd prefer you may apply for a new title on your own. Here's how:
If the title is lost and the vehicle has never had a lien, the vehicle owner must complete an Affidavit of Duplicate Title for a Vehicle or Watercraft (DMV-4-TR), supply a copy of their driver's license, the registration card, if available, and the title fee of $10 to get a duplicate title issued. Remove the license plates and registration card from the vehicle before it is towed. The license plates can either be transferred to another vehicle or sent along with the registration and brief note that the car's been donated to the Division of Motor Vehicles. You'll submit a completed Sold vehicle affidavit to the DMV 60 days after donating. Don't forget to cancel insurance coverage on the vehicle after it's picked up.
