How does the title transfer work?
- Remove Plates
The plates should be taken off the vehicle by the donor.
- Return your plates to the County Motor Vehicle Office
The plates should be returned to the county motor vehicle office where they were issued. When returning the plates, notify your County Motor Vehicle Office, that you no longer own the vehicle.
- Stop insurance
Cancel your insurance coverage on the donated vehicle once it’s been picked up.

How can I replace my missing title?
If there is no title, Kars4Kids can usually apply for a duplicate title. Submit a completed Application for Duplicate Certificate of Title to any County Treasurer's office.
